{"id":1493,"date":"2021-06-18T09:26:50","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T01:26:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.china-pps.com\/?p=1493"},"modified":"2025-08-16T16:24:43","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T08:24:43","slug":"hard-cover-layout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.china-pps.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/18\/hard-cover-layout\/","title":{"rendered":"Hard Cover Layout"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A few things to keep in mind when building your <a href=\"https:\/\/chinaprintech.com\/Products\/high-speed-hardcover-case-making-machine.shtml\">hardcover<\/a>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list book_points\">\n<li>The cover bleed is .625&#8243; (5\/8), much bigger than the interior pages<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The recommended margin is .5&#8243; (1\/2) between the safe area and the bleed area and also marks the hinge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The front and back covers will be .25&#8243; (1\/4) bigger than your page size (If the book is 8.5&#215;11, the cover will be 8.75&#215;11.25). This area includes the Safe and Unsafe Areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The safe zone for the cover is .75&#8243; (3\/4) smaller than the page size (If the book is 8.5&#215;11, the safe area of the cover is 7.75&#215;10.25)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feel free to place anything on the spine you wish, it will print just fine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a hinge. It allows the <a href=\"https:\/\/chinaprintech.com\/Products\/high-speed-hardcover-case-making-machine.shtml\">hardcover<\/a> to open and close without ripping the casewrap (printed cover) and it is part of the front &amp;
